Millions of bank customers hoping to be refunded overdraft charges have been dealt a major blow by a Supreme Court judgement.

The court has overturned earlier court rulings that allowed the Office of Fair Trading to investigate the fairness of charges for unauthorised overdrafts.

At stake in the case, which has run for over two years, is an estimated £2.6bn of annual income for the banks.

Campaigners said they were shocked and disappointed with the decision.

Banks welcomed the ruling, said there had been major changes to current account packages recently, and pointed out that these unplanned overdraft fees could be avoided.

Seven banks and one building society wanted the court to overturn two previous rulings that said the OFT had the power to investigate unauthorised overdraft fees.

im a english citizen.we do not live in a democracy.the british public bailed out via taxes the banks ,while the bank bosses-the fat cats sit on ther arses during this time and all the years before on mental huge bonuses laughing at us and yeah people are pissed off but feel powerless,in this political system who can we trust to givva fuk about public before money making..looks like noone...'new labour'- 'new labour'-means they are really torie- were irresponsible,they encouraged the greed and they encouraged the banks to move full force as stupid ass lenders..
the banks fees here are a joke.they are NOT stressed to the lender by the bank,to read the small print isnt encouraged and were not all lawyers so the rules of lending sections are full of jargon and boring as hell.how much more is it gunna take of this piss taking,constant piss taking before we get the fuks in control out...forever and change the whole structure and philosophy of how this world is run..

ps-everyone and ther dog tried to get these charges back..and the charge rates are unfair-they are blatantly to high for a jumpy cheque why should it cost 25 quid they send you a letter and press some computer buttons..im sure ther workers will be on low wage who do this job -im guessin 5 pounds an hour and im guessin this doesnt take an hour to deal with and doesnt cost shit loadsa cash for a piece of paper some ink to print on it and an envelope..as far as i can see the paper tey write the -your cheques bounced-letter on aint gold leaf or hand made paper... but this dont matter to the high courts..why..cos they are all fukin masons they are part of the 'illuminati' they are part of the world controllers,as if they work for the correct path they dont work for the people they work for gov corps and banks..the top levels of the pyramid are full of evil.
